JEREMY CORBYN will reveal an “eclectic mix” of his favourite music on a spoof version of Desert Island Discs next week.

The former Labour leader will talk about his favourite songs, book and luxury item during an online Labour Grassroots show.

It follows his successor Sir Keir Starmer’s appearance on BBC Radio Four’s Desert Island Discs last week.

Sir Keir said that his desert island essentials included classical pieces, Three Lions by Baddiel, Skinner and The Lightning Seeds and the Artists for Grenfell song featuring Stormzy.

Labour Grassroots founder and host Crispin Flintoff told the Morning Star: “Sir Keir’s cringeworthy choices for Desert Island Discs alerted everyone to the fact Jeremy Corbyn had never appeared on the BBC show when he was Labour leader.

“I asked Jeremy if he would be up for taking part in an alternative version on Zoom and, after some persuading, he agreed. 

“He says he has an eclectic mix of musical tastes — from folk to new stuff.”

Not Desert Island Discs starts at 7.30pm on Wednesday.
