MISOGYNIST influencer Andrew Tate rented supercars to appear “uberwealthy” and generate more online engagement, his lawyers have claimed.

Legal representatives for the former kickboxer and his brother Tristan said the pair deliberately portray themselves as far wealthier than they are because their “business model depends on online attention.”

The submissions came after British police sought the brothers’ extradition from the US over alleged sexual offences, which they deny.

Their lawyers said: “The outrageousness of the posts by them and about them is the point. The more hyperbolic and outlandish the post, the more likely it will generate views and likes, which in turn generates income.

“In short, they are playing a role.”

The lawyers said luxury yachts, supercars and watches shown online should not be taken as evidence of wealth, adding: “The $2.1 million Aston Martin and $5m and $7m Bugattis featured in Tristan’s videos were rented.”

Andrew Tate, 39, faces seven further counts of rape and other charges, while Tristan Tate, 38, faces two counts of rape and other offences, following further Crown Prosecution Service charges brought after their arrest in July.
