Scotland: Housing crisis could lead to ‘generational gulf’
SCOTLAND’S housing crisis could create “a devastating generational gulf” between those in affordable housing and those unable to access it, according to housing charity Shelter.
A poll conducted by Shelter Scotland showed that 69 per cent of Scots think that it is harder to buy or rent a home now than when their parents were a similar age, while 90 per cent think it will be even harder for their own children.
The survey also revealed that 87 per cent of people believe Scotland will never tackle its housing crisis unless many more affordable homes are built.
