Lucas ‘steps back’ after Stop the War Syria statements
CAROLINE LUCAS has “stepped back” from the leadership of the Stop the War Coalition (StWC), citing concerns about statements made by the group in relation to Syria.
The Green MP confirmed yesterday that she had quit her post as a vice-president of the organisation following reports that her name no longer appeared on its website.
A spokesman for Ms Lucas said she felt is was the “responsible thing to do” because of time constraints and “in light of some recent StWC positions that she didn’t support.”
