Labour promises to tackle soaring homelessness of Tory rule

LABOUR has pledged to end the “national shame” of rough sleeping within its next term in government and challenged PM Theresa May to back the plan, it was revealed yesterday.

Shadow housing minister John Healey said there can be “no excuses” for the fact that a rising number of people are forced to sleep on the streets.

This figure has doubled since the Tories came into power in 2010.
