Peace campaigners take ceasefire calls to the Senedd and hold Cardiff meeting

PEACE campaigners are set to take the Gaza ceasefire campaign to the Senedd on Thursday before holding a public meeting in Cardiff that night.

Former African National Congress MP Andrew Feinstein will brief Senedd members on the South African International Court of Justice case against the Israeli government.

Stop the War Coalition convener Lindsey German is due to update MSs on the campaign for an immediate ceasefire, while Stop the War Cymru (StWC) Honorary President Betty Hunter and co-chair Lujane Abdallah will brief MSs on the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions campaign.

Ms Abdallah said: “The Senedd has already voted for a ceasefire and we want the pressure to continue on the Welsh government to support that call to stop the slaughter in Gaza.”

Ms German said: “We refuse to stop protesting against a genocide. We also reject Rishi Sunak’s attempts to scapegoat the Muslim community."

The meeting with Mr Feinstein and Ms German will be held at 6.30pm tonight in the Sophia Suite, Sport Wales National Centre, Sophia Gardens, Cardiff, CF11 9SW.
