TUC looking at selling or renovating historic Congress House

THE TUC is looking at options to sell Congress House, its grade II-listed headquarters and historic home of the trade union movement.

Its finance committee agreed on March 5 to examine options to invest in the building to meet environmental standards, or sell it to buy a “smaller and more suitable building.”

A TUC spokeswoman told the Morning Star: “This review is driven by the costs of upgrading Congress House to meet modern environmental standards, by the current office rental market and by the fall in demand for conferences and events following the pandemic.
