Palestine activists stage stunt outside Sir Keir's house

YOUNG pro-Palestine activists staged a demonstration outside Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer’s house today, demanding that the party commit to ending Britain’s complicity in the murder of children in Gaza.

The Youth Demand group hung a banner over Sir Keir’s hedge that read: “Starmer, stop the killing” as they called on him to support an arms embargo on Israel.

They also placed children’s shoes, representing the youngsters who have been murdered in Gaza, on the pathway leading to his door.

Ella Ward, 21, an environmental science student from Leeds, said: “I’m taking action to call on Starmer to commit to stopping the killing.

“I’m calling on him to act with compassion by committing to stop the UK from selling weapons to a country committing genocide and to stop licensing oil and gas.

“Lives are already being lost to climate breakdown and millions more are on the line.”

Israel has killed or injured at least 25,800 children in Gaza since the current violence began on October 7, according to the United Nations.
