Don't be surprised if London takes centre stage in Doncaster

IT’S the start of the turf flat season with the Lincoln Handicap as always the mainstay on the Town Moor Doncaster card and I am going to take a chance on London Protocol (nap) causing a huge upset for local trainer Karl Burke.

The five-year-old hasn’t cut much ice at Meydan this winter with two heavy defeats off a mark of 100.

A 1lb drop in the weights is hardly anything to shout about here, but a repeat of his winning performance in a Chantilly handicap last autumn or in a subsequent run in a hot handicap at Leicester would make him more than just a sitting duck outsider here.
