Iran accused by UN watchdog of increasing stockpiles of enriched uranium
IRAN has further increased its stockpile of uranium enriched to near weapons-grade levels, according to a leaked report on Monday written by the UN nuclear watchdog.
The report by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) comes against the backdrop of heightened tensions in the wider Middle East over the Israeli invasion of Gaza. Israel and Iran carried out direct strikes on each other’s territory for the first time last month.
The report said that as of May 11, Iran has 313.2lbs of uranium enriched up to 60 per cent.
