Putin: St Petersburg supermarket explosion was terror bombing

AN EXPLOSION at a St Petersburg supermarket that hurt at least 13 people on Wednesday night was a terrorist attack, Russian President Vladimir Putin said yesterday.

He added that authorities had prevented a second bombing.

The bomb, packed with shrapnel to cause grievous injuries, was placed in a cloakroom area for customers’ bags.
