Just Stop Oil sprays private jets at Stansted ‘hours after Taylor Swift's arrival’

JUST STOP OIL activists sprayed orange paint onto private jets at Stansted airport today after claiming that US pop star Taylor Swift had arrived at the site an hour earlier.

Two women, named by the climate protest group as Jennifer Kowalski, 28, and Cole Macdonald, 22, were arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and interference with the use or operation of national infrastructure after police had been called at around 5am.

The group’s latest protest follows two Just Stop Oil activists spraying orange paint on the prehistoric Stonehenge monument on Wednesday.

Ms Macdonald, from Brighton, said: “Billionaires are not untouchable. Climate breakdown will affect every single one of us.”

Ms Kowalski, a former sustainability manager from Dumbarton, added: “I have to take desperate measures to make my voice heard.

“We need an emergency treaty to stop the extraction and burning of oil, gas and coal by 2030.”

Police confirmed that Ms Swift’s private jet was not at the airport.
