MEN’S BOXING: Jack Rafferty held onto his British and Commonwealth super-lightweight titles after earning a narrow majority-draw decision over Mark Chamberlain on Saturday night in Altrincham.

One judge scored the fight in favour of Chamberlain with the other two calling it as a draw. Rafferty has now won 26 and drawn one of his career bouts while Chamberlain’s record is 17 wins, one loss and a draw.

MEN’S RUGBY UNION: Handre Pollard kicked 15 points as South Africa scrapped to a narrow 30-22 win over Australia in Saturday’s second round match of the Southern hemisphere’s Rugby Championship.

Argentina earned their first ever home win over New Zealand with a 29-23 victory in Buenos Aires but the All Blacks still top the table, thanks to the losing bonus point they picked up, with Australia a point behind in second.

MEN’S FOOTBALL: South Shields have the only 100 per cent record and top National League North by two points before this afternoon’s match at Buxton.

MEN’S CRICKET: Australia gained a consolation win after thumping South Africa by 276 runs in the dead leg of their three-match one-day series in Mackay, Queensland, on Sunday morning. 

Cameron Green smashed an unbeaten 118 from 55 balls, Travis Head weighed in with 144 and Mitch Marsh bagged a century in the Aussies’ imposing 431-2 before Cooper Connolly took 5-22 as they skittled the South Africans for 155.
