MEN’S ICE HOCKEY: Belfast Giants picked up domestic ice hockey’s first silverware of the season when they cruised past Cardiff 4-0 on Wednesday night to win the Challenge Cup final in front of a crowd of over 6,000 at the Belfast Arena. The Giants have won the trophy five times in the last seven years and now turn their attention to the Elite League where they sit top, three points ahead of Sheffield, with a game in hand.
NETBALL: The relaunched Super League gets underway tomorrow evening with Team Bath, British netball’s most successful club, missing from the fixture list. In a reduced eight-team competition newly franchised Birmingham Panthers visit Leeds and the rebranded London Mavericks are at Cardiff before London Pulse meet Nottingham Forest and Manchester face Loughborough, in a repeat of last year’s grand final, on Sunday.
MEN’S RUGBY UNION: The final round of the Under 20s Six Nations tournament kicks off tomorrow evening with unbeaten England facing Wales in Cardiff needing a win, or draw with a bonus point, to retain the trophy. A bonus point win for France at bottom of the table Scotland combined with an England loss would crown them as champions while Ireland face Italy in Treviso with both teams looking for their second wins of the competition.
