Manchester City captain Greenwood shocked by news of Gareth Taylor’s exit

MANCHESTER CITY captain Alex Greenwood was shocked by the news of Gareth Taylor’s sacking on Monday evening but says she trusts the decision the club have made.
A day on from beating Aston Villa 2-0 in the FA Cup quarter-finals and five out from facing Chelsea in the League Cup final, City — currently fourth in the Women’s Super League table — announced boss Taylor’s tenure had been ended, with Nick Cushing returning to take interim charge for the rest of the season.
Saturday’s contest will be the first of four successive meetings with Chelsea, which also includes two legs of a Champions League quarter-final.
