BRITAINS communists have condemned geopolitical “cold war lies” and social media misogyny, warning of their dire consequences for US foreign policy and government austerity measures respectively.

Speaking at the Communist Party’s political committee on Tuesday, Carol Stavris said: “The first cold war delivered half a century of lies about Nato, the US-led ‘arms race’, non-existent ‘Soviet threat’ and US military bases in Britain. The new cold war will be similar, but with deeper cuts to public services and social security programmes.”

She warned that US President Trump’s agenda to seize control of precious natural resources and strategic transport routes in Ukraine, Greenland and Panama was driven by his undeclared war against the rise of China and its allies in the Brics economic group of nations. Originally comprised of Brazil, Russia India, China and South Africa, Brics now includes additional Middle Eastern and African states.
