Russell Brand shows up to offer his support to E15 mums

RUSSELL Brand can not get enough of the radical east London mums from Focus E15, showing up at their occupation for a second time this weekend.

Left comedian Brand hung out with the homeless mums on Saturday after popping in to show his support during the week.

Sam Middleton and Jasmine Stone — the group’s main spokesmums — were happy to show him around and pose for a series of socialist selfies.

And the actor has also been covering the occupation in his video series The Trews.

“People feel detached and distracted from the people who are in control,” the actor tells the mums in one of the videos.

“Who are they making them rules for, cause it isn’t for us,” he added.

The mums also won blazing support from the Fire Brigades Union.

A spokesman sent this message of solidarity on Twitter: “Solidarity from the FBU. Say no to cuts. Say no to homelessness. #PutPeopleFirst” after firefighters visited the mums and installed smoke alarms.

New messages of support have been flooding in to the group’s Facebook page from as far away as Canada, Australia and the US.

One supporter called Ben McConaghy wrote: “I just want to say that when I hear about all the madness going on in this country and throughout the world your struggle gives me a real feeling of hope!

“I admire you so much. Your struggle is the struggle of so many people. Keep up the fight!”

Labour MP John McDonnell also backed the Focus E15 mums posting: “I send you a message of support and solidarity in your campaign for a decent home.”
