UN reveals that Houthis raided human rights office in Sanaa earlier this month

AGENTS of Yemen’s Houthi government raided the headquarters of the United Nations Human Rights Office in the capital Sanaa earlier this month, seizing documents, furniture and vehicles, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk said yesterday.

The Houthis took over the building on August 3, after forcing Yemeni staff to hand over belongings, including documents, furniture and vehicles, Mr Turk said in a statement.

“Ansar Allah forces must leave the premises and return all assets and belongings immediately,” he said, using the official name of the Houthis.
