A different board game for Chessman at Ascot
Crystal Ocean ridden by Jockey Ryan Lee Moore (front) on their way to win the Hardwicke Stakes during day five of Royal Ascot at Ascot Racecourse.

THERE are some very tempting big field handicaps tomorrow afternoon, none more so than the International at Ascot due off at 3.00 and I am going to wade in with a big each-way nap here in the form of Chessman (NAP).

Archie Watson is fast becoming a trainer to have onside, especially with his juveniles and this lightly raced son of Acclamation has been threatening to win a race of this ilk for some time.

His run last time out in a Listed contest showed his turn was close at hand and, if you think back to last year when he ran in the Jersey Stakes here at Ascot and was only beaten seven lengths by Le Brivido, then his chance is there for all to see off a mark of 95 with the in-form Oisin Murphy on board.
