Social care workers in Wales are switching to agency roles due to burnout and stress, research finds

MORE social workers in Wales are quitting their permanent council paid work to sign up with agencies instead due to burnout and stress, research revealed today.
The study by Social Care Wales found that some workers said local authority social work departments were toxic, negative environments with high demands and vacancy levels.
Workers also said agency work gave them a feeling of “being in control” of their jobs, workload and balance with family life.
