A member of staff at Kings Cross station in London as members of the train drivers' union at 16 train operators in England stage a 24-hour strike in a bitter, long-running dispute over pay and conditions, October 4, 2023

CATERERS employed by rail privateer Avanti West Coast in Manchester are to strike in protest at the imposition of new rosters they say are causing stress and fatigue.

Rail union RMT members say the firm is enforcing short-notice changes to shift patterns, job cuts and enforced overtime.

Strike action will take place on Friday, with pickets in place at Manchester Piccadilly station.
