Eurostar staff suspend industrial ballot after securing Olympics bonus
Eurostar olympics

TRANSPORT union RMT secured improved payments for Eurostar staff working the Olympic games following intense negotiations and a ballot for industrial action.

Eurostar had initially proposed a shift-based payment system, which RMT rejected as divisive and insufficient.

The rail company has now agreed to provide a one-off bonus instead, averting the threat of industrial action during what is expected to be a busy period.
