TRADE unionists debated how to tackle sexual harassment in the workplace at the Eisteddfod today and demanded significant reform from employers.

TUC Cymru president Sian Gale said it showed how far women still had to go for equality as the first woman, Eluned Morgan, was elected as First Minister in Wales after 25 years of devolution.

Ms Gale said broadcast union Bectu’s survey found 60 per cent of women had reported inappropriate touching in the workplace, with one in five saying they had suffered a serious sexual assault.
