INDONESIA: Prabowo Subianto was inaugurated yesterday as the country’s eighth president, completing his journey from an ex-general accused of human rights abuses under Indonesia’s military dictatorship to the presidential palace.

The former defence minister was cheered through the streets by thousands of waving supporters after taking his oath on the Koran in front of legislators and foreign dignitaries. 

RUSSIA: Authorities said air defences had destroyed 110 Ukrainian drones yesterday over the country’s western regions.
