Anti-war campaigners to gather for ‘new agenda for peace and justice’

ANTI-WAR campaigners will gather in London today to discuss a “new agenda for peace and justice.”

The conference, organised by the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND), will hear from a wide range of experts and activists on the dangers facing the world, including MPs Bell Ribeiro-Addy and Jeremy Corbyn, Stop the War Coalition convener Lindsey German and Andrew Feinstein of Shadow World Investigations.

It will focus on the escalating threat of nuclear war amid the wars involving Russia and Israel, both of which are nuclear-armed states, as well as the impact of the climate crisis on inciting conflict.

CND general secretary Kate Hudson said: “In the face of escalating nuclear tensions and environmental devastation, it’s essential we unite for change.

“While our government is actively fuelling conflicts abroad and squandering our money on weapons of death and mass destruction, we have a different vision.

“This conference aims to shape the future we all desire, laying plans for our movement to achieve peace and justice for all.”

The conference will begin at 10am at Soas University of London. A full agenda can be found on the CND website.
