A Palestine solidarity demo from earlier this year

AIMEE SHALAN has been appointed as the new director of Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC), the group has announced.

Appointed by the PSC executive committee following an extensive and competitive recruitment process, Ms Shalan will start in the post from the beginning of November, the group said.

She comes to PSC as the current director of Makan, a Palestinian-led organisation providing transformative education to strengthen the movement for Palestinian liberation, and is also chair of the British Palestinian Committee, a trustee of Shubbak Arts Festival, and a policy member of Al Shabaka.

Ms Shalan also previously had leadership roles in Medical Aid for Palestinians, Friends of Birzeit University, and Pressure Cooker Arts.
