STAR OF STATE could be supplemented for the Sky Bet Lowther Stakes at the Ebor Festival following her stunning victory at Leopardstown last month.

Joseph O’Brien’s exciting filly bolted up by nine lengths in a maiden over an extended six furlongs, after finding only Livenka too good on her debut at Fairyhouse last month.

Livenka herself was an impressive winner of the valuable Ballyhane Stakes on Monday, with connections of the Juddmonte-owned Ger Lyons filly having their sights on the Group Two at York on August 20.

There could be a rematch on the horizon, as Star Of State, who has a Debutante Stakes entry on the same week at the Curragh, could head across ahead Irish Sea should owner Jaber Abdullah add her to the Knavesmire feature at a cost of £20,000.

“She’s a lovely filly. She’s in the Debutante, she’s got an entry for it, but I think Mr Abdullah is very keen for her to run in the Lowther. She may be supplemented for that,” said Philip Robinson, racing manager for Abdullah.

“I was very pleased with her first run and the way she finished. Joseph brought her out quite quickly, but she was so happy and came out bouncing and it was proved right. She just bolted away, very impressive.

“I think she’s got the speed for six [furlongs]. I wouldn’t worry too much about that and he’s quite confident she will stay the seven as well. She looks quite flexible at the moment.”

Another filly donning the blue and white silks of Abdullah is Timeforshowcasing, who went down by a nose in the Group One Grosser Dallmayr-Preis – Bayerisches Zuchtrennen in Munich.

She had already landed the German 1000 Guineas in Dusseldorf in May and trainer Charlie Johnston appears to have another overseas target for the three-year-old daughter of Showcasing.

“I think she would have won if they just went a little bit quicker a bit earlier on, if there was a bit more pace on that would have been the difference,” Robinson continued.

“She ran an incredible race and she really deserves one of them.

“I did have a quick chat with Charlie at Goodwood and I think he had a race in mind for her in France somewhere.”
