FOOD WORKERS in Scotland have been abandoned by their employer and left to use foodbanks to survive after the company collapsed, their union said today.
The Bakers, Food and Allied Workers Union (BFAWU) called for action by the Scottish government to help 200 workers made redundant at the Dawnfresh factory at Uddingston, outside Glasgow.
The union said that the victims included a father of two children who has leukaemia.
