Welsh Rugby says No to violence against women
WALES’S rugby stars joined Unison yesterday to help raise awareness of men’s violence against women.
Today’s match against New Zealand falls on International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and Girls and captain Alun Wyn Jones, Rhys Webb, Leigh Halfpenny and Scott Williams all highlighted the White Ribbon campaign by posing with banners calling for an end to men’s violence against women.
Julian McDonald of Unison’s South Wales Police and justice branch said: “As emergency service workers, Unison members working for South Wales Police will often be the first point of contact and the first on the scene when a woman is attacked.
