A GAZA medical evacuation scheme to bring children to Wales has been announced by the Welsh government.
Health Secretary Jeremy Miles issued a written statement on Friday, just days before the Senedd returns from the summer recess.
Mr Miles said the situation in Gaza was intolerable for the millions of Palestinians living there and repeated calls made by First Minister Eluned Morgan for an immediate ceasefire.
He confirmed that Wales will play a part in the medical evacuation of children from Gaza in desperate need of treatment.
“The Welsh government is working closely with the other governments in the UK to determine how the scheme will operate, which is inevitably a sensitive and complex process, involving the NHS and local authorities,” Mr Miles said.
“We are committed to doing our utmost to support the children who need medical treatment and their families where we have the capacity and are able to meet their needs.”
