Unanimous cross-party call for fair funding in Wales over HS2 passes in Senedd
The Senedd in Cardiff Bay

A UNANIMOUS cross-party call for fair funding for Wales for the HS2 rail project has been passed in the Senedd following years of debate on the project.

Wednesday evening’s motion, introduced by Plaid Cymru’s Luke Fletcher, calls on the Westminster government to give the Senedd the money it is “rightfully owed” and was backed by all members, including Welsh Conservatives.

The motion calls on the British government to “right the inconsistency” that currently sees the £100-billion HS2 rail line classed as an “England-and-Wales project.”
