Ukraine strikes Moscow high-rise as Russian missile kills 4 near Kharkiv
Debris dangles from a damaged apartment building on Mosfilmovskaya street after a Ukrainian drone attack in Moscow, May 4, 2026

A UKRAINIAN drone hit a luxury block of flats in the suburbs of Moscow today.

Visible damage was caused to the House on Mosfilmovskaya, a gated high-rise apartment complex with panoramic views over the city about six miles from Red Square.

There were no casualties but the strike was a rare breach of Russian anti-air defences in the capital, reinforcing concerns that have led President Vladimir Putin to scale down plans for the annual Victory Day parade this Saturday commemorating Nazi Germany’s surrender to the Soviet Union. This year’s parade will not feature military vehicles or missiles.

Russia said it had successfully intercepted 117 Ukrainian drones overnight.

Ukraine also claimed to have hit Russian oil refineries and oil tankers, as well as naval vessels in the Black Sea. Russia maintained its daily bombardment of Ukraine, with at least four Ukrainians killed and 18 hurt in a missile strike near Kharkiv.
