WOMEN’S CRICKET: England take a 3-0 lead into the fourth leg of their five-match Twenty20 series against New Zealand at the Oval on Saturday evening.

Chasing 142 in Thursday’s game, Alice Capsey hit 67 not out to seal England’s six-wicket win with just four balls remaining.

Sophie Ecclestone was the pick of the English bowlers with 4-25 from her four overs as Sophie Devine top-scored for the Kiwis with an unbeaten 58.

MEN’S RUGBY UNION: Prop Fin Baxter was the only change to the England team for Friday morning’s second test against the All Blacks at Auckland’s Eden Park.

The tourists lost last week’s first test 16-15 and will need to become the first team to win at Eden Park since 1994 to level the series. Today’s other internationals see Wales face Australia in Melbourne, Argentina up against France and South Africa playing Ireland in Durban.

MEN’S BOXING: Unbeaten 27-year-old Jaron Ennis faces Russia’s David Avanesyan for the IBF Welterweight belt in Philadelphia Saturday night.

Ennis, who became the current interim champion after Terence Crawford relinquished the title, has secured 28 of his 31 wins by knockout. Avanesyan was knocked out by Crawford in the sixth round of their championship bout in December 2022 and has only fought once since then.

WHEELCHAIR RUGBY LEAGUE: Early season table-toppers Leeds put their three-match unbeaten record on the line when they take on the London Roosters in Saturday’s Super League fixture.

The Roosters have won one and lost one of their first two games. Second-placed Halifax, the most successful team in Super League history, take on bottom club Hull FC tomorrow afternoon. Defending champions Wigan are not in action this weekend.
