MEN’S CYCLING: Tadej Pogacar’s commanding victory at the GiroD’Italia, combined with Jonas Vingegaard’s long-term injury problems, has increased the gap between the world’s best cyclists to almost 4,500 points in the UCI rankings.

Pogacar has also accumulated over double the amount of points as third-placed Jasper Philipsen.

Britain’s Adam Yates is up to seventh place after his win at the Tour of Switzerland.
