Team GB boxer Chantelle Reid, June 19, 2024

OLYMPIC BOXING: Middleweight Chantelle Reid will be looking to become the first British boxer to taste success at this year’s Olympics when she comes up against 2023’s IBA heavyweight world champion Moroccan Khadija Mardi in the preliminary round of the 71kg competition on Wednesday morning.

Colchester’s light-middleweight Lewis Richardson takes on Russian-born European champion Vahid Abasov in the men’s 71kg category later this evening.

MEN’S CRICKET: The much-maligned 50 over One Day Cup resumes tomorrow with Derbyshire looking to extend their 100 per cent record in Group A against bottom of the table Lancashire, Durham hosting Somerset at Chester-le-Street and unbeaten Hampshire visiting Kent.
