Sabalenka feels her time has arrived at US Open after reaching final again
Aryna Sabalenka, of Belarus, smiles after defeating Emma Navarro, of the United States, during the women's singles semifinals of the U.S. Open tennis championships, September 5, 2024, in New York

ARYNA SABALENKA believes her time has arrived at the US Open as she closes in on a long-awaited first title tomorrow.

Sabalenka is back in the final 12 months after one of her darkest days when she let a first-set lead slip to lose the showpiece event to Coco Gauff.

She faces another American in the shape of Jessica Pegula tomorrow, who she beat in the final of a warm-up event in Cincinnati, and is ready to banish bad memories.
