Some cracking racing this weekend

THE 3.35 at Sandown Park is the feature Group One event of the day and ST MARK’S BASILICA should land this famous race for a sixth time for trainer Aidan O’Brien.

The first thing that has to be mentioned is the pathetic turnout of just four runners,  after so many connections have complained at the lack of prize money at the top end of racing.

Winner of the French 2,000 Guineas and French Derby, the son of Siyouni has shown a top-class turn of foot on both occasions. This could prove pivotal in such a small field, where tactics could play a major role in deciding the destination of this prize.
