LABOUR is on course for an election landslide  — all thanks to Reform UK — after major polling today revealed large public support. 

The most detailed and comprehensive survey of voting intentions, including a poll of 14,000 voters, conducted by YouGov, shows Labour securing a Commons majority of 120, including winning back all the “red wall” seats lost to the Tories over Brexit in 2019.

But it is not enthusiasm for Sir Keir Starmer’s Labour but the rise of the hard-right Reform UK that is doing damage to the Tories, the survey found.

While the party founded by Nigel Farage would not win any seats, it would be the decisive factor in 96 Conservative losses, according to a detailed constituency analysis.

Without those seats, Labour would be the largest party in the Commons but short of an overall majority.

Reform is planning to fight all constituencies in this year’s election, unlike in 2019, when it gave many Tories a free run. 

Its impact could be still greater if Mr Farage decides to lead its effort.

Sir Keir urged Labour members to ignore the poll and “fight like we’re 5 per cent behind,” while Tory Premier Rishi Sunak urged voters to “stick with our plan that is working.“

If the polling proves correct, 11 Cabinet members would lose their seats. 

One of them, Defence Secretary Grant Shapps, claimed: “We have got a plan and we are working to it,” apparently including spending much more on the military and intervening hither and yon.

Less controversially, he added that “there isn’t a plan under Labour.”
