Reform candidates' misogyny, racism and extreme views unearthed in Labour report
Reform UK leader Nigel Farage speaking at Dodworth Central Social club in Barnsley, April 22, 2026

REFORM council candidates have said all terrorists are Muslim, posted the N-word with pictures of golliwogs and derided the NHS and nurses, a damning Labour dossier showed yesterday.

They are among 45 Reform candidates who are named and shamed for misogyny, racism and conspiracy theories in Labour’s Reform Revealed report.

The dossier also shows candidates who have shared anti-semitic content, anti-vax conspiracy theories, and anti-Muslim hatred, including one accusing a photographer of terrorism because of the colour of their skin.

Essex candidate Jeff Bray claimed that “not all Muslims are terrerists (sic), but all terrerists are Muslim” when a Ukip politician in 2010.

Alan Stay, standing for a seat on the Isle of Wight Council, posted the N-word and pictures of golliwogs on social media.

Would-be Westminster councillor James Bembridge posted on social media: “Hate is too weak a word for what I feel towards the NHS.

“I’d tear it down and salt the earth upon which it stood … most NHS nurses look like they’re eating food banks out of business.”

Bolton candidate Derek Bullock was expelled from the Tories in 2020 for using a racial slur to call for people of Pakistani heritage to be shot.

Communities Secretary Steve Reed said: “Reform’s rogues’ gallery of wrong’uns are not fit for public office.

“The idea that Nigel Farage thinks these candidates pushing vile racism, misogyny and conspiracy theories are suitable, is frankly staggering.

“It’s an insult to the public that Farage put these people forwards to stand in the first place, but it’s a dereliction of duty that he hasn’t condemned them nor pulled his support for them.

“From Swindon to Sunderland, these dangerous and extreme council candidates need to be shunned. The risk to communities is real and it’s only Labour that can stop them.

“Voters should reject Reform’s hate on Thursday 7 May and back Labour candidates who have the best interests of their local communities at heart.”

Stand Up to Racism co-convenor Sabby Dhalu said: “From calls to shoot Muslims, to racist abuse against Black people, antisemitic slurs, and victim-blaming women for sexual assault, Reform UK is drenched in racism, Islamophobia, antisemitism and sexism. Its links to Tommy Robinson supporters and repeated alignment with the fascist movements expose exactly what it stands for. This is a dangerous party that must be kept far from power.

“Yet it is leading in the polls and could make major gains on 7 May. History shows what happens when racism goes unchallenged. We must act now. Use your vote to stop Reform UK.”

Reform has launched disciplinary proceedings over the “unacceptable” comments against some of the 45 candidates in the report.

A Reform UK spokesman said: “Labour are clearly petrified about losing their red wall heartlands and they should be.

“Those in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones. We shall be releasing our files on Labour’s candidates over the coming days.”
