IT’S the final day of the turf flat season and I am hoping we can sign out with a bang in company with Sea Fox (nap) in the seven-furlong handicap at Doncaster at 1.35.
The sole three-year-old taking on the older horses in this class two affair, the David Evans runner has finally been shown some mercy by the handicapper, after starting the season in the elite company of Barney Roy and Dream Castle in the Greenham Stakes at Newbury when he was predictably outclassed in the closing stages, finishing six of the 10 runners.
He subsequently found a mark of 100 too hot to handle, but having dropped to 90 here his chance is clear to see following two much better efforts over 7f at Thirsk and then over a mile-and-a-quarter at Newbury.
