MORE than £8 million has been declared by MPs in earnings on top of their salaries, with Boris Johnson accounting for more than a quarter of the total.
The former PM earnt more extra cash than any other MP in the last 12 months, raking in a whopping £2.3 million. That’s on top of the £84,000 salary he gets as an MP.
The majority of that sum has been awarded to Mr Johnson since his departure from Downing Street in September. It includes £1.8m for speaking events and £510,000 for his upcoming memoirs.
