Mothers hold worldwide sit-down protests demanding urgent action to protect children from climate change
The sit-down protest at Spanish City, Whitley Bay [Karen Taylor]

MOTHERS across Britain took part in a global sit-down protest at the weekend to demand that world leaders act urgently to protect children from climate change.

Organised by Mothers’ Rebellion, protesters formed circles yesterday, the day before some countries around the world celebrated Mother’s Day.

The campaign group, an offshoot of Extinction Rebellion, is calling for a “liveable, socially just and inclusive world for all children.”
