PALESTINIANS refuse to be invisible, said the beseiged nation’s ambassador to Britain, Husam Said Zomlot, at the opening session of TUC Black Workers’ Conference in London on Friday.
Speaking ahead of three emergency motions on the latest developments in Gaza, the ambassador said each one “truly reflects our values.”
He called for an end to Israel’s blockade, its gross violations of international law, the expulsion of Palestinians from their land and attacks on the right to protest.
Mr Zomlot said: “Nearly two million Palestinians are homeless — shunted from one place to the next as bombs drop around them.
“All hospitals in Gaza either damaged or destroyed completely
“Israelis have also denied access to food. It uses famine as a weapon of war.
“They exercise a supremacist ideology that holds one group of people as less human than other humans.
“They consider themselves to be superior and make a clear distinction between the civilised and the savage.
“It is pure racism happening in full view of the world.
“Palestinian lives matter. Black lives matter. All lives matter.
“What’s happening is ethnic cleansing. Genocide. Extermination.
“To do this you have to dehumanise people. That is what the Israelis have tried to do to us. They have tried to make us invisible.
“But we will make them see us. We will make them hear us.”
