ENVIRONMENT campaigners are coming together for the “biggest march” to save the natural world and protest for urgent political action to “restore nature now.”

Extinction Rebellion (XR), The Wildlife Trusts, WWF, UK Youth for Nature, the Woodland Trust and more will unite on the streets of central London on Saturday June 22.

XR spokesman and Olympic gold medal-winning canoeist Etienne Stott said: “Biodiversity loss, habitat destruction and climate breakdown are now at breaking point.

“I’m deeply worried and I know huge numbers of others are too.

“The only way we are going to do anything about it is if we all come together and pull in the same direction.”

The demonstration is a follow-up from the “Big One” protest last year and aims to bring “this fight to the mainstream and get everyone who cares about our planet and all life on earth to bring about radical and urgent change,” Mr Stott said.  

Among the protest’s calls are a pay rise for nature by supporting farmers, and make big business polluters pay — including in the water, retail and energy industries.
