Chelsea’s winning start to WSL ended by Leicester draw
Leicester City's Missy Goodwin celebrates scoring the opening goal during the Women's Super League match at Filbert Way, Leicester, December 14, 2024

LEICESTER ended Chelsea’s 100 per cent record under coach Sonia Bompastor at the weekend after both sides settled for a 1-1 draw.

Missy Goodwin finished a well-worked team goal with a low finish in the 20th minute, but Chelsea pulled one back in the 77th minute through Wieke Kaptein’s long-range strike from just outside the box.

The Blues had won all nine of their league games so far this season and a late point means they still currently sit clear of title rivals Manchester City.
