Britain in the grip of a mental health crisis, charity warns

THE mental health of the nation is “probably worse than it has ever been,” a charity head has warned.
Dr Sarah Hughes, who became chief executive of Mind in January, said that a “perfect storm” of pressures including the pandemic, cost-of-living-crisis and war in Ukraine could drive vulnerable people to suicide.
“All of these things contribute greatly to the vulnerability that we are all experiencing to a greater or lesser extent,” she said.
