RISHI SUNAK signed a new Northern Ireland Protocol deal with the European Union today over trading arrangements and is seeking to win the backing of Tory Brexiteers and Unionists.

The Prime Minister and EU chief Ursula von der Leyen finalised the long-awaited agreement at a summit at Windsor.

The European Commission president then went on to have tea with the King at Windsor Castle.
