TORY Education Secretary Gillian Keegan is “squandering her promise to negotiate over teachers’ pay,” education union NASUWT said today.
Ahead of more teacher strikes across England and Wales next week, the union’s head Dr Patrick Roach urged the Chichester MP to deliver on her promises to discuss wages.
Unions rejected Ms Keegan’s latest offer to postpone the walkouts in return for discussions after the ex-care and mental health minister gave no indication she was willing to reopen talks on this financial year’s below-inflation 5 per cent average salary deal.
