Corbyn to open Tamil war museum

LABOUR leader Jeremy Corbyn will open an exhibition about Tamil history on Sunday.

Tamils of Lanka: A Timeless Heritage is the brainchild of the late Vairamuttu Varadakumar, a long-term friend of Mr Corbyn’s who died in March aged 69.

The director of the Tamil Information Centre (TIC) organised Mr Corbyn’s landmark visit to Sri Lanka in 1984 at the start of the country’s civil war, sparking the Labour MP’s interest in the Tamil liberation struggle.
