Around 700,000 households missed housing payments in the last month, data shows

ABOUT 700,000 households missed a housing payment in the last month amid the cost-of-living crisis, according to research published today.

Missed housing payments were particularly common among renters, with one in 20 renters surveyed by consumer group Which? saying that they had failed to make one in the last month.

The rate of missed rent payments has remained high throughout the last year, indicating that many tenants are struggling to keep a roof over their heads.
